The Arcangel team have been hearing from several publishers that witches and witchcraft are set to be popular genre themes in the coming months.
Established authors like Deborah Harkness and Kelly Armstrong have successful series already in place; Harkness’s ‘A Discovery of Witches’ trilogy is being adapted for TV by Sky and will likely become much more widely known as a result.

Visually, we expect to see traditional ideas associated with witches – primarily female characters, pagan symbols, mystical objects, animals and birds. However, there may also be some more contemporary interpretations, especially for titles aimed at young adults.We’ve collected a few related concepts into the lightbox below.
