Part of Marvel’s ‘extended universe’, the second season of Jessica Jones premiered on Netflix earlier this year. Alongside Daredevil and Luke Cage among others, the series presents a darker and grittier take on the superhero genre.
The first season of Jessica Jones was widely praised for depicting a complex female protagonist, one who was flawed and occasionally vulnerable without compromising her status as a hero. Fittingly given its New York setting, the show also presents a notably diverse cast of characters.
